Key Details of the 3 Day Guarantee
Subsidised Minimum: 72 hours per fortnight (around 3 days per week) for all CCS-eligible families.
Expanded Entitlement: Up to 100 hours per fortnight for families who meet the activity test or exemptions.
First Nations Families: 100 hours per fortnight guaranteed, regardless of activity level.
Start Date: 5 January 2026.
Income Cap: Families earning over $533,280 annually remain ineligible.

1. What is the 3 Day Guarantee?
From January 2026, all eligible families will receive at least 72 hours of subsidised childcare per fortnight (about 3 days per week).
2. Who is eligible?
All families who qualify for the Child Care Subsidy will automatically receive the guarantee unless their combined household income exceeds $533,280 per year.
3. Do I still need to meet the activity test?
No. Every eligible family will receive 3 subsidised days, regardless of work or study.
4. Can I access more than 3 days?
Yes. Families who meet the activity test may access up to 100 subsidised hours per fortnight.
5. What about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children?
They are entitled to 100 hours per fortnight automatically.
6. When does it begin?
The guarantee starts on 5 January 2026.
7. How much will I save?
Savings vary depending on income and fees, but many families save thousands yearly.
8. Do I need to apply separately?
No. If you already receive the Child Care Subsidy, your entitlement will automatically update.
9. How does this affect my enrolment at Ignite?
