Getting ready for school is an important milestone and a major step for your child. This milestone requires a strong foundation to help children start their journey of learning at school. School readiness is not just about academics and the Ignite team recognise this, which is why we have developed the I Am Ready program.
Our Ignite I Am Ready is a school readiness curriculum created by Ignite educators to ensure a stable and seamless transition into primary school. This curriculum is divided into seven sections to aid in the promotion of all areas of learning.
I Am Learning is a predetermined curriculum based on each child’s academic progress. This curriculum focuses on literacy and writing, as well as mathematics. Name writing, mathematical patterns, letter recognition, shape identification, and other topics are all covered in this curriculum.
I Am Sustainable is a curriculum that emphasises environmental awareness and exploration of the natural world. This will encourage children to learn about the natural world, materials, and environmentally beneficial practices. Children will be able to build knowledge, explore values, and appreciate the environment and its relationship to their surroundings when they practice sustainability.
I Am Creative is a creative arts curriculum for youngsters that helps them develop their creativity and imagination. This focuses on painting, ceramics, and creative expression. Ignite brings music lessons to broaden children’s musical expertise, while I Am Creative will encourage music and movement foundations.
I Am Active will focus primarily on children’s physical and cognitive skills. There will be a heavy emphasis on movement and coordination, as well as the development of gross motor abilities and locomotor skills. This will be accomplished through programs such as Munch and Move, Grow Fit, Little Kickers, and Dance Instruction.
I Am Scientific will encourage each child’s scientific and exploring interests. It will concentrate on data collection and organisation, enquiry and investigation, and the use of modern technology such as ELLA.
Encouragement of independence for children is one of the most crucial aspects of a successful transition to school. This will be accomplished through our I Am Independent curriculum.
The curriculum will emphasise self-care and empathy, constructive group participation, personal hygiene, and taking responsibility for their hygiene and belongings. This curriculum will be linked to our ‘I AM KIND’ initiative, which promotes happiness and well-being.
Being emotionally and socially dependent and developed is a vital part of a smooth transition to school, and it is a key component to acceptance. Understanding feelings, displaying self-control and self regulation, and cooperating with others will be the subject of I Am Social.
This curriculum will assist children in following rules, participating in group activities and play, approaching children to make friends, and being separated from their parents or primary caregivers, as well as coping with transitions and change.
Show-and-tell, theatrical play, scheduled activities, and continuing interactions between children and educators will all be used to achieve this goal.
Exploration and play are one of the most IMPORTANT elements of supporting and facilitating a seamless transition to school at Ignite. At Ignite, we listen to children’s voices and learn from their experiences.
Children can express themselves via play while developing their inventiveness, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is essential for a child’s brain development. Children engage and interact with the world around them through play from an early age.
I Am Okay is a unique program for our students, staff, and families. I Am Okay creates a contented and highly valued sense of well-being. Transitioning to school can cause anxiety and be a difficult time for children. We want children to feel supported and happy during their transition to primary school at Ignite.
Ignite has connected to Beyond Blu, Headspace and introduction to a breathing program, to implement their strategies and program into our curriculum. Our goal is to increase self-esteem, resilience, and emotional regulation in children so that they are better equipped for everyday life and can and will build strong foundations for their future school transition.
The program will teach children to be expressive, thoughtful, emotionally literate, and confident, so that when they attend school, they will have gained self- confidence.
Our school readiness program, I Am Ready is all about building the foundation of knowledge and abilities best to prepare your child to transition into school successfully. If you have any questions regarding the program, please feel free to ask our Educators.
My children have been attending Ignite since the centre was opened. The educators and management have been very caring and involved in their job. The owner and the director are amazing and attend very promptly my all requests. The educators are very lovely and caring. I strongly recommend this childcare.
I would highly recommend families to enrol their children in this beautiful service. Ignite Early Learning Centre has a very warm and inviting environment for all families and children; the learning rooms are all filled with great resources and programs designed for the children’s developmental needs. I have been in the centre because I have friends who work there and I am very impressed with the pleasing and friendly educators working with the children and the management who are kind, down to earth and willing to help families at all times. It is also amazing to see the children’s daily activities and experiences which will help them grow as confident, responsible and caring children.
We have been going for almost a year now. Much much better than other centres such as the ones next door at bardia. Attitude to customer service, parents requests and concerns are the standouts. Staff are well trained and professional. Thry don’t whinge and have an attitude like many centres. Recommended by a parents who goes there as well. We recommend as well. Centre itself looks great, safe and tidy. The owner is the key. She is active in managing the centre.
